Originally formed in the mid eighties,
Panel Technology was then known as Hinckley Pressings
and was a part of the privately owned Veng group who specialised
in producing after market body panels. In 1993 it was
acquired by Sertec Group Holdings. Under Sertec’s
ownership Panel Technology developed an enviable reputation
as a producer of low volume class “A surface”
body panels for both after market and OEM customers and
was particularly successful in attracting work from Aston
Martin for the DB7 model. This was followed by new business
for both the DB9 and V8 Vantage models. With Sertec’s
drive towards higher volume, automated press and assembly
work Panel Technology no longer fitted Sertec’s
profile and Sertec decided to sell the business in 2007.
Under its new ownership the business has continued with
its strategy of providing a complete service for fully
finished skin panels and high value added assemblies.
Turnover for the current year is expected to exceed £3.5M. |
